The design only order is used for a range of full-arch prostheses, Osteon CAD technicians will design the arch based on your special requests at time of order submission.
- Design Only orders will give the lab a HTML link to view the design in 3D space and in relation to the submitted scan data.
- Once the design is digitally is approved, the .STL file will be uploaded for production. The case will automatically close, and no further design adjustments can be made.
- A new design order needs to be created for additional changes.
Use this to order:
- 3D Printed Try-In before a final Nexus milled bar
- Direct to MUA provisional using a tapered screw
- Ti Base Zirconia full-contour zirconia bridge
- Other direct to MUA or Ti base restoration
- Cannot be used for framework/bar designs
The Design Only order cannot be used for Immediate cases due to turnaround times.
Immediate cases can be completed by the lab designing the arch using the exported abutment and tissue data.
Design Only orders do not require an export to be completed before ordering.
Cases will be designed following best practice and utilizing the Osteon Design Parameters where possible. Case requests that fall out of the existing design parameters may encounter prosthetic issues in the future.
Approval:
Once the case has been designed, you will receive a digital proposal, this is called an Approval. Review the case in the Chat and Notes, use the available buttons to determine the next steps.
Approve - The case will be finalized, no further changes and be uploaded for use.
Approve with Changes - For minor changes. A new field will appear for input on final changes before the case is then finalized and uploaded. You will not receive another Approval for review.
Request Changes - For large changes. Use this option to dictate significant changes, a new Approval and design will be sent for review prior to case finalization.

Ordering a design from Osteon requires the correct data to be captured, depending on the patients current setup. Choose from the patient setups below.

Revision Limits:
A design-only order includes up to three digital revisions, using the HTML review process and the case notes/chat function.
Once a design has been uploaded in printable or workable format (.STL / .PLY) the case will be closed and no further changes can be made, requiring a new Design Only order to be submitted at an additional charge.
