Patient Photography Guide

Setup

Camera Hardware:

  • DSLR with appropriate lens. No wide angles, can cause distortion (50mm-100mm recommended)
  • Modern Smartphone (iPhone 11 or later.) Shoot on normal lens, no 0.5 mode.

Camera Setup Fundamentals:

  • Patient should be upright, not in chair
  • Camera should be parallel to the face
  • Do not shoot at an angle, below or above
  • Neutral background is best (white, gray, black)
  • Avoid shadow on the face – flash will resolve this
