Scan Gauge Scans

How to scan effectively, after Scan Gauges have been placed.

Follow the correct scan gauge arrangement before beginning IO scans.

Performing Accurate Implant Scans (Scan Gauge Scans)

IMPORTANT:
All full-arch scans with Nexus require 2 scans of each restoring arch:

  • Scan from Left to Right, save
  • Scan from Right to Left, save

These 2 scans are compared with each other, if they are close enough, the scan data is successful and can be used for a restoration.

Scanning Instructions:

Scan in a single direction

When scanning, move in one direction across the arch. Do not move the scanner back onto previously scanned areas - This causes data corruption.

Zig-Zag to Capture All Information:

While moving in one direction across the arch, zig-zag the scanner head to ensure all gauges are

captured.

Tilt Scanner Head:

In order to capture all of the 7 facets, gently tilt the scanner head - capturing underlying soft tissue can help the scanning process.
